CARE Austria, together with CARE International in Rwanda (CARE Rwanda), in partnership with DUHARANIRE AMAJYAMBERE Y’ICYARO (DUHAMIC-ADRI) are implementing KUNGAHARA: Resilient Systems for Food and Nutrition, running between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2026, funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation. In line with the EU’s global objective of the KUNGAHARA Call for proposals, the overall objective of the project is to strengthen resilient food systems and nutrition security in Rwanda. DUHAMIC-ADRI in partnership with Care International Rwanda and its implementing partners are implementing the five years’ program Supporting and Enhancing Resilient and Viable Employment Opportunities (SERVE) Project. This program is funded by MasterCard Foundation through the partnership of Care International and will focus on to build a resilient, sustainable, gender equitable, and inclusive entrepreneurial environment that increases dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for predominantly female youth in agricultural value chains in 10 districts across Rwanda namely RULINDO, GAKENKE, NYABIHU, RUBAVU, RWAMAGANA, KAYONZA, KIREHE, NGOMA, NYAMAGABE and HUYE.
The SERVE Project aim to build a resilient, sustainable, gender equitable and inclusive entrepreneurial environment that increases dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for young people aged between 18 and 35 years and 70% of them must be women in agricultural value chains across Rwanda.
As part of SERVE project, DUHAMIC-ADRI committed to provide start-up input package for demo plot installation to Enable farmers to access good agronomy practices through the FFBS platforms. Therefore, for upcoming 2025 A Season, DUHAMIC-ADRI has to support demo plot with agriculture seeds of different variety of tomato and green beans to be cultivated on the net area estimated at 33 ha and 13 ha for tomato and fresh beans respectively. It is under this regard, the tender to procure those quantities of agriculture seeds in line with DUHAMIC-ADRI procurement policy.
