Senior Database And Application Administrator

Job responsibilities

• Maintain and provide technical support for existing NIDA systems;

• Provide technical support for existing NIDA databases and modify existing databases as circumstances change;

• Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, managing and Troubleshooting Software/Applications/Databases;

• Perform routine Audits of Databases and Applications;

• Responsible for regular backups and implementation of data redundancy across multiple database systems;

• Ensure that the Databases and Applications are up and running;

• Ensure data synchronization across multiple sites and databases;

• Implement comprehensive maintenance procedures for the database system and repair the damaged databases;

• Implement database security policies including access authorization and authentication;

• Provide daily support to systems users;

• Train systems users and set up their accounts;

• Recommend the supervisor on database management systems upgrades required;

• Generate regular reports related to ID production and civil registration;

• Provide daily support to stakeholders;

• Train stakeholders and set up their accounts;

• Define and model data requirements business rules and operational requirements for online services;

• Collaborate on information gathering, documentation and process flow for new services to be added on different platforms;

• Prepare and perform use case tests prior to service deployment on different platforms;

• Follow up with the implementation of NIDA services on different platforms;

• Investigate and collaborate with government platform; on change required after services are deployed on different platforms;

• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports on activities and status of databases and application;

• Advise supervisor accordingly.

• Knowledge of database technologies including but not limited to MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, MariaDB

• Knowledge of Database command of SQL and SQL server tools

• Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards;
