Senior Network Administrator

Job responsibilities

• LAN/WAN, Internet installation, configuration, testing, maintain and repair;

• Installations, debugging, maintenance, upgrades, and general support of switches, firewalls, Manage and configure VPNs (IPsec) and routers;

• Administration, Maintenance and troubleshooting of Routers, Switches, Design, deploy and manage wireless router;

• Provide technical specifications of Hardware and Software to be procured and check their quality during delivered period;

• Administer, order and maintain spare parts for Network Systems (Hardware/Software);

• Support NIDA’s user to access Network and Internet Connection;

• Liaise with the rest of the IT team members to meet LAN/WAN objectives;

• Configure, Manage and Maintain LAN/WAN/Internet Security between NIDA and stakeholders;

• Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts;

• Deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the networking Unit;

• Hardware/Software configuration and Troubleshooting of NIDA’s Network Unit: Servers, Switches, Routers, Firewalls;

• Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all Design, processes and procedures of Network System;

• Provide end-user support and issue resolution;

• Provide support for online connectivity between NIDA and stakeholders;

• Proactive monitoring of all network devices, services, and servers using a combination of network tools to ensure high availability and NIDA’s Service Level Agreement it has with other institutions;

• Collect and review network utilization data for capacity and planning purposes;

• Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements of network;

• Research, evaluate and recommend technologies to support business requirements;

• Maintain logs related to Network’s as well as maintenance and repair records;

• Developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining Network disaster recovery plans;

• Inventory of network equipment;

• Provide Annual inventory report (indicating equipment for refurbishment or disposal);

• Take part in finalizing subcontracting technicians/Company contract;

• Check the service provided quality;

• News and publications updates, adding new functionalities;

• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports on activities and status of NIDA LAN/WAN;

• Advise supervisor accordingly.
